DVIR software is priced by the vehicle, by the user, by the asset or by quote, and the cheapest headline price is rarely the whole cost once minimums, billing terms and gated features are counted. A voice layer adds another question: whether it comes with the price or costs extra. This page compares the published prices we could find, shows where sources disagree, looks at which tools describe voice features and gives a checklist for getting a real quote. Schedule a call to price a voice-enabled DVIR setup for your fleet.
Four Ways DVIR Software Is Priced, and What Each Pricing Model Hides
Per vehicle, per user, quote-only and free-tier models each shift cost to a different part of your fleet
A self-published pricing directory adds the usual hidden costs: asset minimums, annual-only billing, telematics hardware outside the per-vehicle figure, separate onboarding fees, gated modules and per-user seats that get costly if every driver needs access. It says its figures are signals, not quotes.
Published DVIR and Inspection Software Prices Compared Side by Side
Entry prices run from free to about $10 per vehicle per month, but the sources differ and the tiers include different features
| Product | Pricing model | Published price | Free option | Source and date |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| FleetRabbit | Per vehicle | Free up to 3 vehicles, then $5 per vehicle per month | Free tier | FleetRabbit |
| Fleetio | Per vehicle | Essential $4 annual or $5 monthly; Professional $7 and Premium $10, annual only | 14-day trial, no card | Fleetio pricing page, quoted for a 5-vehicle fleet |
| Driveroo | Per asset | Essentials from $5, Pro $7, on annual contracts | Not stated | Guideflow, Aug 2026 |
| Whip Around | Per asset | Paid tiers about $5 to $9 per asset | Basic free, 1 asset and 1 user | Fleet maintenance pricing directory, July 2026 |
| Simply Fleet | Per vehicle | From about $2 per vehicle | Free up to 5 vehicles | Pricing directory, July 2026; Upper, Oct 2026 |
| SafetyCulture | Per user | Premium $24 per seat annual, $29 monthly | Free for up to 10 users | Guideflow, Aug 2026 |
| Samsara | Quote-based | Estimated $25 to $30 per vehicle plus hardware, in euros in the source | Trial | Lumiform, May 2026; Guideflow |
Only the Fleetio row comes from the vendor's own pricing page. The rest come from comparison sites, some run by vendors. Lumiform ranks itself first in its own roundup and lists Fleetio at about 3 and 6 euros, which differs from Fleetio's $4 annual and $7, so we use Fleetio's figures. The same Lumiform page lists Whip Around at about 4 euros per asset, against $5 to $9 in the directory. We could not load Whip Around's pricing page, so treat its row as unconfirmed.
What 10 and 25 Vehicles Cost at the Entry Prices That Are Published
At published entry rates, per-vehicle plans differ by tens of dollars a month, so features and billing terms matter more than the headline
The charts multiply published entry prices by fleet size. This is our arithmetic. It assumes the entry tier covers DVIRs, which we could not confirm for every product. Fleetio's page notes that inspection items appear limited in its base tier and that its prices assume a five-vehicle fleet on an annual plan.
Does a Voice Layer Cost Extra? What the Pricing Sources Say About Voice-Guided DVIRs
Most DVIR roundups never mention voice, and the one tool they do describe puts related features in paid add-ons
Guideflow's twelve-tool list describes no voice features for any of them. Lumiform's roundup says only Whip Around offers voice-guided inspections that prompt drivers through each checkpoint, with AI inspections and multilingual support as paid add-ons, but Whip Around's own pages we loaded did not confirm voice or say which plan includes it. FleetRabbit's own articles describe voice capture of DVIR and work-order notes with no extra hardware, and claim accuracy of 94 to 96 percent at 85 dB with no independent test. Whether voice is included at your price tier is a question to put to every vendor in writing.
